Much of the team's work is customization that requires a statement of work between the client and Tavve. However, a large amount of TPS engagements address common needs among all our customers. This catalog provides you with a list of common services our TPS performs. The engagement duration times are provided, but may need to be changed for special circumstances such as complex or huge networks. Your sales representative and consulting contact will review your request before the engagement.
Services for ZoneRanger Product Integration CA ( HP OpenView Network Node Manager – Integration with NNM exploits many ZoneRanger features. Polling load and node count can be reduced on the NNM server by polling nodes and services with the ZoneRanger and forwarding status traps back to NNM. Custom actions added to the NNM event browser launch the ZoneRanger GUI for problem diagnosis and troubleshooting. Also netmon can be configured to poll using SNMP through the ZoneRanger for transparent integration into NNM. Raw syslog messages can be passed to the syslog processing in NNM for Unix or converted to SNMP traps for NNM on Windows. Reports generated from snmpCollect data can be extended to nodes past the firewall using the ZoneRanger SNMP proxy. SNMP traps can be forwarded or discarded by the ZoneRanger to reduce the trap-processing load on the NNM server. OVO Composer Circuits can be used to tie together various SNMP traps into one consolidated alarm. HP OpenView Operations – Integration services with OVO configures your environment for SNMP proxy and traps. Extend MIB threshold monitors into the DMZ using the ZoneRanger SNMP proxy. Bring device syslog messages into OVO/Windows by converting them to SNMP traps on the ZoneRanger. SNMP traps can be forwarded or discarded by the ZoneRanger to reduce the trap-processing load on the OVO server. IBM Tivoli NetView – Integration with NetView exploits many ZoneRanger features. Polling load and node count can be reduced on the NV server by polling nodes and services with the ZoneRanger and passing status traps back to NV. Custom actions added to the NV event browser launch the ZoneRanger GUI for problem diagnosis and troubleshooting. Also netmon can be configured to poll using SNMP through the ZoneRanger for transparent integration into NV. Syslog messages can be converted to SNMP traps and passed to the NV event processing system for logging/display/automatic actions. Reports generated from snmpCollect data can be extended to nodes past the firewall using the ZoneRanger SNMP proxy. SNMP traps can be forwarded or discarded by the ZoneRanger to reduce the trap-processing load on the NV server. Micromuse Netcool/OMNIbus – Integration leverages ZoneRanger status reporting. Root cause analysis in the ZoneRanger ensures that only important alarms are forwarded on to the Netcool console for operator action. Launching the ZoneRanger GUI from the Netcool event log speeds time to diagnose and troubleshoot the fault condition. OpenNMS– OpenNMS integration is provided by configuring OpenNMS' virtual node feature. Tavve root cause and impact analysis traps are forwarded to OpenNMS where they are processed to reflect the status of ZoneRanger monitored nodes and services. Using OpenNMS' alarm processing model, ZoneRanger traps can be de-duplicated, automatically categorized / enriched / cleared / escalated, and integrated into it's sophisticated notification system. ZoneRanger monitored nodes integrate into OpenNMS' availability reporting system. SNMP Trap Translator – Integration combines your NMS with aggregation and translation. Compliment one of the NMS systems above with a redundant notification/action system using SNMPTT. A small server running SNMPTT collocated with the ZoneRanger at a remote site can send notifications and initiate actions if communication back to the central NMS is not available.
Services for Technology/Standards Integration Traps–SNMP traps can be forwarded or discarded by the ZoneRanger to reduce the trap-processing load on the network/systems management server. Trap filters allow forwarding a subset of traps to a specific destination. For devices that only support one trap destination, the ZoneRanger can be used to forward traps to multiple trap receivers. Syslog– syslog messages can be forwarded or discarded by the ZoneRanger to reduce the message-processing load on the network/systems management server. Syslog message filters allow forwarding a subset of messages to a specific destination. Syslog messages can be forwarded as SNMP traps to applications that don’t support Syslog messages. Status polling – ZoneRanger can be used to distribute the polling workload in large environments or it can function as a standalone status poller in small or focused solutions. ZoneRanger can be configured to poll interfaces (nodes) with ICMP. Status polling can also be done by querying SNMP MIB variables on the device. This status can be passed to a network or systems management application via SNMP traps. Root cause traps can also be emailed via SMTP to one destination or to an alias for many destinations. SNMP data collection – Data collection can be extended to nodes past the firewall using the ZoneRanger SNMP proxy. Applications that don’t support SNMP proxy can be configured to proxy through the Ranger Gateway software to the target devices. Eliminate the issues associated with overlapping address ranges by assigning a ZoneRanger to each address domain.
